A horticulturist who has worked in the nursery industry for 32 years. Commercialised landscape Bromeliads early on, and finished with Alcantareas and Vrieseas, in quantities for the mass market from the early 2000’s. Bruce is currently still growing plants for the revegetation and landscape sectors as well as continuing to bring home new plants from his travels .He has served on the board of the Heliconia Society International for 17 years and also on the Board of the Bromeliad Society of Queensland

He has spent 29 years travelling through 15 tropical countries pursuing interests in Heliconia, Gingers, Bromeliads, Aroids, and other rainforest monocots as well as an ever-expanding interest in other plant groups.
